Anti-squat is how strongly the rear suspension geometry resists the back of the car settling under acceleration. Anti-squat is the rear counterpart to anti-dive at the front, and it is a geometry number, not a spring or shock number.
OptimumG groups anti-dive, anti-lift and anti-squat as one family of “anti” geometries, and defines anti-dive as a ratio of two angles — “usually, we express this in percentage” — with the kinematic angle set by the line joining the wheel contact patch to that corner’s side-view instant center. On a dirt car you move it with link angles and mounting holes, and more anti-squat means geometry, not springs and shocks, does more of that work. Hyper Racing’s dirt position is that it can be overdone: “designing the rear geometry to make the rear squat actually hurts our cause.” Cross-discipline trap — RC kits use the same word for a rear-geometry setting that is not the same measurement, so read your kit manual rather than carrying a full-scale number across.
Anti-squat changes what the rear of the car does the instant you get to the throttle, which is the part of the lap that pays.
