Account and purchases

Your profile, buying an edition, signing out, deleting your account and getting help.

Account

My Profile

Where in the app: Side menu → My Profile, or the profile icon on the Trips screen

Side menu → My Profile opens the My Account Profile screen with your account details, edition status and app preferences.

Sections

  • Verify email red bar at the top of the screen with Send Again, shown until verified; afterwards an Email verified bar with a green mail icon appears under your email; the bar itself uses the normal panel background.
  • MY RACETRIPS EDITIONS. Your current plan ("Free Trial" or your edition names), the trial progress strip while you are still on the trial (replaced by a red "You've created N more Trip Reports than your free trial allows." line once you go over, and gone once you own an edition), and a button: Unlock Unlimited with Premium on the trial or Unlock another year once you own an edition.
  • MY NAME*. Required.
  • EMAIL / USERNAME*. Read-only. Shows Email verified once confirmed.
  • PASSWORD → Reset Password. Opens the Change Password dialog; enter a new password (6 characters minimum) and tap Submit. A "Password updated" toast confirms.
  • MY RACE TEAM. Required. The label carries no asterisk, but an empty value blocks saving.
  • MY PRIMARY RACE CLASS. Tap to open Search your Race Class; type to filter, then tap a class (name and description) to select it. Use the back arrow to leave without choosing.
  • AI INSIGHTS: View AI Insights Messages. Switch RaceTrips AI suggestion cards on or off.
  • SIGN OUT and DELETE ACCOUNT (see the next guides).
  • App Version and server environment at the bottom.

Save changes

  • Tap the green ✓ in the title bar. A "Profile updated" toast confirms. Name, team, race class and the AI switch are saved together and only when you tap ✓; toggling the switch alone does not save it. Password is saved from its own dialog.

Upgrade to Premium and purchases

Where in the app: Side menu → Upgrade to RaceTrips Premium, or any Get Premium / Upgrade button

Buy the edition for a tax year to unlock Season stats and Reports for that year. The screen is titled Upgrade to Premium during the trial and My Purchases once you own an edition.

Before you buy

  • Your email must be verified. Otherwise the screen shows "To continue, you need to verify your email" with Send Again.
  • Purchases go through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). In the web version, Buy Now shows Store issue: This product is currently not available in your region; buy in the iOS or Android app instead.

The purchases screen

  • SUBSCRIPTION STATUS (trial only): your plan, the trial progress strip ("Your trial has N/8 Trip Reports remaining.", replaced by a red "You've created N more Trip Reports than your free trial allows." once you are over the limit), and the list of Premium benefits. Until you go over the limit it reads "You'll still be able to add trip reports after your trial expires. Be sure to upgrade to RaceTrips Premium for continued access to:"; once you are over the limit it reads "That's ok, though. You can still add more trip reports, but be sure to buy a paid plan to get all the benefits for your 2026 tax year:" (the current calendar year is inserted).
  • RaceTrips Premium Editions. One row per available edition (for example "RaceTrips 2026 Edition") with Buy Now, or Active if you already own it.

Buy an edition

  1. Tap Buy Now. A spinner shows while the store sheet opens.
  2. Complete the purchase in the store sheet.
  3. RaceTrips verifies the purchase with the server, shows Congratulations! Purchase succesful (the app's own spelling), and opens My Profile with your new edition listed.
  4. If the store cannot supply the product you see Store issue: This product is currently not available in your region. Store errors show a Shop error dialog, and if the server cannot verify the receipt you see Purchase error. Canceling the sheet simply returns you to the list.
  5. The price itself is shown by the App Store or Google Play purchase sheet after you tap Buy Now.

After purchase

  • The year's lock panels disappear from Season and Reports.
  • The Trips headline panel stops counting trial reports.
  • The year selectors include your new year.

Sign out, delete account and help

Where in the app: Side menu and My Profile

Sign out

  • Side menu → Sign Out, or the power icon in My Profile → SIGN OUT. You return to the welcome screen. Your data stays on the server; log in again to see it.

Delete your account

  • My Profile → DELETE ACCOUNT → tap the red user icon at the right of the Request Account Deletion row. It opens the account-deletion page on raceyear.app in your browser, where you can submit the request.

Get help

  • Side menu → Tutorial Videos opens the step-by-step tutorials.
  • Side menu → Help and Feedback opens the Help center. Can't find an answer? Contact us
  • Side menu → Replay Product Tour replays the eight-page introduction.
Splash screens. Every launch plays a short RaceTrips animation (about 3.5 seconds) before opening My Race Trips or the welcome screen. If your account has a sponsor promotion attached, a sponsor splash may also appear when you return to the app, at most once every 24 hours.

Fixing problems

Account and sign-in

  • "Login failed" (with a reason, or "unknown error"). Your email and password were rejected, or the app could not reach the server. Check spelling and capitals in the email, use the eye icon to reveal the password, and make sure you have a data connection. "Unknown error" means the server did not answer; try again in a minute. Use Forgot Password? if you cannot remember it.
  • "Registration failed". Most often the email is already registered or the invite code is not valid. Try logging in instead, or clear the invite code (it is optional).
  • "Password reset has been sent" means an email is on its way; check spam. "Password reset failed" usually means the address is not registered.
  • Red text under a sign-in field ("Please Enter a valid Email address", "Please Enter Password", "Please enter your Name", "Minimum password length is 6", "You need to accept the terms"). A required field is blank or too short. Passwords need at least 6 characters and you must tick the Terms box to register.
  • The app suddenly returns to the login screen. When RaceTrips starts or refreshes it reloads your account. If the server answers "not found", for example because the account was deleted, the app returns to the login screen. Your saved login is not wiped. Sign in again.
  • "To continue, you need to verify your email". Purchases are locked until you confirm your email. Tap Send Again (you see "Email sent"), open the link in the email, then pull down to refresh.
  • "Errors exist" when saving your profile. A required field (My Name or My Race Team) is blank. Fix it and tap the green check again; "Profile updated" confirms the save.
  • "Error, Password NOT updated". The new password did not reach the server. Check your connection and try again; "Password updated" confirms success.
  • Saving your profile appears to hang. If the save cannot reach the server the app shows no message and the thin progress bar under the title keeps running. Leave the screen, come back, and check whether your change stuck.
  • Send Again gave me no confirmation. It does send a fresh verification email, and normally a brief message appears at the bottom of the screen. If the request fails you get no message at all, so check your connection and tap it again.
  • Careful with Discard on the "Errors exist" dialog. It leaves My Profile and throws away every unsaved change, not just the invalid field. Choose Continue editing unless you mean to lose them.

Purchases and trial

  • "You've created N more Trip Reports than your free trial allows." You have gone past the free count. Nothing is lost; upgrade to unlock reporting for the year.
  • "Store issue: This product is currently not available in your region". The App Store or Play Store did not return the product. On the web version there is no store, so this always appears there; buy on your phone. On a phone, make sure you are signed in to the store and pull down to refresh.
  • "Shop error" (with a store message and code). The store rejected or interrupted the purchase, for example a declined payment or parental controls. Cancelling the store sheet does not show this message; it simply returns you to the screen. Fix the store-side issue and tap Buy Now again.
  • "Purchase error". The store completed the purchase but our server could not record it. Do not buy again; contact us with your store receipt.
  • Buy Now is greyed out or the spinner never stops. A purchase is in progress. Wait for the store sheet; if it was cancelled, leave the screen and come back, or pull to refresh.
  • I own an edition but the app still shows free-trial messages. Until your purchases finish loading the app assumes the trial. Pull to refresh; if it persists, check your connection and reopen the app.
  • The store took my payment but nothing happened. If the app could not tell our server about the purchase it shows no message at all. Do not buy again; pull to refresh, and contact us with your store receipt if the edition does not appear.

Email and receipts

  • The verification email never arrives. Look in spam; it can take a few minutes. Tap Send Again in My Profile.
