Setups and rounds
Run a race day from Baseline to Feature, rate every round, and find what you ran last time.
Setups and rounds
Every setup you have ever run lives here, star-rated and searchable. A race night is a set of stages, and each stage gets its own saved setup.
Baseline through Feature
Each race day starts with four sessions: Baseline, Round 1, Round 2 and Feature. You start from a baseline, log what you ran in each round, and finish with the Feature. When you're done, tap the checkered-flag button and "I'm done racing". Running more rounds than that? Open the 3-dot menu, pick Edit sessions, and turn on more sessions or tap one to rename it, up to 12 per sheet. Next time you are at that track you can see the whole day, not just where you ended up.
A race night, step by step
- Baseline. Open the car and start from your saved baseline. Log the track and the conditions before you roll out.
- Round 1. Save what you ran. Rate the run 1 to 5. Note the conditions for that round.
- Between rounds. Tap Ask AI Crew Chief, or Analyze this session on the Recap tab, and say how the car drove and what the track did. Try the change it suggests.
- Round 2. Log what you changed, rate it, log conditions again. Changed values are shaded, so you can see what moved.
- Feature. Rate it and write your race recap notes while they're fresh. Then tap "I'm done racing".
Do that every night and the next trip to the same track starts with a rated history instead of a memory.
Save and star-rate every run
Save the setup for every round. Then rate the run 1 to 5. Ratings are what make the history useful: the setups that worked rise to the top, and a lucky run stops looking like a good one. Rate changes too, so the combos that keep scoring well are easy to find.
Search your history
Find any setup by track and car in seconds. Setups stay organized by track and by car, so the question "what did I run here last spring" has an answer instead of a guess.
Full Setup Sheet
The Full Setup Sheet shows the complete setup on one screen, with your tags in the header. Open it with the expand icon at the top right of a setup. Share and Email sit under the setup details. Community setups you preview open here too, so you read someone else's baseline the same way you read your own.
Changed values stand out
Values you change in the current round are shaded one color, and values changed in an earlier round another, so you can see what moved without comparing two sheets by eye.
Customizable pick lists
Fields that take a value from a list, like shock oils or springs, use pick lists you can add to. Tap the field, then Add new. Values you added get an edit and a delete icon, and they show up on every setup.
Photos and image upload
Upload images to any setup. Photos are tied to the setup they belong to, not lost in the camera roll, and each car keeps its own. Tap any inline photo to zoom in.
Race recap notes
Write a recap on every race night. What the track did, what the car did, what you would try next. Recap notes stay with the setup so the next visit starts with context.
Baselines: save, rename and clone
A baseline is the setup you start a day from. Save one for each car with Save as baseline, then pick it under Select a starting baseline when you create a setup, and your known-good numbers are already filled in.
Since v1.12.21 you can also edit and clone baselines: rename a baseline, or clone it into a new one and adjust from there. That is the quickest way to build a wet-track version of a dry-track baseline without retyping it.
Gear charts
The spur and pinion table is built into the Gears tab: tap Select, tap your combo and tap OK, and it saves to the setup. Some templates, like RC Traxxas MudBoss & Crate Late Model, add a View Gear Chart button with the maker's chart. More in Gears, chassis and calculators.
Pre-race conditions
Log the track and conditions every round, Baseline through Feature, so next time you know whether it was the car or the track.
Conditions before every round
Before you roll out, log the surface type, track configuration and surface condition on the Baseline's Pre-Race Conditions tab. After each round, the Recap tab takes that round's weather, surface condition and traction, so a Round 2 change is read against the Round 2 track, not a guess about what the surface was doing.
Surface templates
The conditions you log follow your car's template: dirt oval or carpet oval. Start every day from the template built for your class and the right fields are already there.
